The Barossa Valley has a hot Mediterranean climate with mild winters and very hot, dry summers. The Bethany vineyards are located along the eastern slopes of the Barossa Ranges, facing the prevailing sea breeze that fan the vineyards during the intense heat of the summer and bring additional moisture to the vines, extending the ripening period and retaining acidity.
This climate is ideal for cultivating Shiraz and Grenache grapes for the family’s range of red wines, as well as Semillon for white wines. Bethany also source high-quality Riesling and Chardonnay fruit from the cooler Eden Valley.
